Week 12 Game Preview

Jacksonville, FL - After an unexpected off week, the Sharks (6-2) will take on the Carolina Cobras (5-3) for the first time this season in Jacksonville on Monday, June 26. 

The two teams last met during the final week of the 2022 regular season when the Cobras took down the Sharks 62-55. Jenson Stoshak led both sides with three touchdowns for Jacksonville during week 14. 

Last week, The Cobras lost to the Orlando Predators 59-54 in Orlando. Nyqwan Murray scored three touchdowns, two rushing and one receiving, plus recorded 136 receiving yards. 

However, the loss put a little more distance in the standings in favor of the Sharks, leading up to the season’s first match-up between the second and third-place teams in the league. 

The Sharks were scheduled to play in Albany last weekend. Instead, they had an unplanned bye week due to the Empire’s termination from the league. 

During week 10, the Sharks took on the Fayetteville Mustangs for the first time in Jacksonville, where they won 63-35. While Jacksonville was losing by two at halftime, they stormed back in the second half to take down the Mustangs for the second time this season. Brandon Munoz had success on both sides of the ball, with two sacks along with 13 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Marquel Wade was named Special Teams Player of the Week after recording 132 yards on three returns, one of which resulted in a 53-yard touchdown.
