Veteran Star DB Ross returns to the Sharks

2021 NAL defensive player of the year and 2x First team All-NAL DB returns to Jacksonville


JACKSONVILLE, FL-  The Jacksonville Sharks announce today the signing of Marvin Ross, the former Shark and star defensive back returns to Jacksonville for his sixth season in the National Arena League and third with the Sharks.

Marvin Ross (5’11, 187) looks to build on an already exemplary career in Arena Football.  In 2016 he was the AFL rookie of the year, in 2017 and 2018 he was 1st team All-NAL both years as a member of the Sharks and in 2021 he was the NAL Defensive player of the year.  Last season as a member of the Albany Empire he won the NAL Championship.  Ross returns to Jacksonville anre-unites with his former coach and new Sharks head coach Jason Gibson.

Ross played collegiately at Florida A&M as a cornerback on the Rattlers where he played for Hall of Fame coach Joseph Taylor.  Marvin played high school football here in Jacksonville at Trinity Christian.  He lettered in football, basketball and track.  He tallied 56 tackles, 2 INT's and 17 TD's in his senior season, earning him 2nd team all-conference honors
