Former Troy Trojan Joins Sharks

JACKSONVILLE, FL - The Sharks sign Troy alum Khalil McClain as both a wide receiver and linebacker.

Khalil McClain (6'4, 222) comes to Jacksonville for his rookie season from Troy University where he competed in the Sun Belt Conference. In 2019, McClain was tied for fifth in the conference with seven receiving touchdowns along with 562 total yards, all without dropping a pass. 

Before Troy, McClain spent time at Hutchinson Community College in Hutchinson, KS. In his lone season with the Dragons, McClain caught 27 passes for 452 yards and five touchdowns. 

McClain went to Creekside High School in Fairburn, Georgia where he played quarterback. As a senior, McClain threw for 1,720 yards and ten touchdowns while rushing for another 1,272 yards and 18 touchdowns. He was named conference player of the year and was rated a three-star prospect by Rivals.
