Sharks sign Top NAL Pass Rusher Sha-Ki Holines


Jacksonville Gains Former Orlando Predator Ironman

JACKSONVILLE, FL- The Jacksonville Sharks announce today the signing of ironman lineman Sha-Ki Holines, the former Orlando Predators star joins the Jacksonville Sharks for his third season in the National Arena League and first with the Sharks.


Sha-Ki Holines (6’5, 265) had a successful 2022 season with the Orlando Predators where he was a NAL sack leader until an injury cut his season short. Holines started in nine games for the Predators recording 6.5 sacks, 13 tackles, one block, and a fumble he returned for a touchdown. Holines also served on the Predators offensive line where he was not only a leading blocker but also a playmaker who gained eight receptions for 61 yards and three touchdowns. Even after the Holines season ended early as he was signed by the Major Football League (MFL) he was still ranked as a top ironman player in the NAL. Holines also spent the 2021 season with the Orlando Predators where he started in two games for Orlando adding five tackles and one tackle for loss to his career total.


During his college football career, Sha-Ki played on the defensive line for the University of Massachusetts and UCONN. He began his career at Connecticut where he redshirted his freshman year. He eventually transferred to UMASS where he played in the 2014 season as a redshirt freshman who started in nine games but appeared in 12. He finished his first year with over 34 tackles including three for loss and two sacks. Holines finished his career at Massachusetts (2014-2017) playing in over 43 games for the Minutemen at defensive line. He had a career total of 136 tackles, 25 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. He was awarded his senior year with Phil Steele All-Independent Second Team honors despite missing four games early in the season due to injury.


Sha-Ki is a native of Springfield, MA and was a All-State Super 26 defensive lineman at Commerce High School. He was also a First Team All-Scholastic athlete his junior and senior seasons. He was named the team’s defensive MVP his junior year after finishing the season with 122 tackles and six sacks.
