JACKSONVILLE - The Sharks are adding experience to the offensive line with the signing of former NFL undrafted free agent and arena football veteran Kelby Johnson.

Kelby Johnson (6’7, 300) played for the Sharks last season after spending 2019 with the Wichita Force of Champions Indoor Football. In 2016, Johnson signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but was released later that season.

Before playing in the NFL and CIF, Johnson played for the Cardinals at the University of Louisville. He saw action in four games his senior year including wins over Syracuse and Samford. Johnson also played one year at ASA College in 2013 where he was named a junior college all-conference selection, helping the team to a 9-1 record.

Johnson is originally from Hyattsville, Maryland where he played offensive tackle at DeMatha Catholic High School. He started all four years and helped lead the Stags to a 9-3 record and an appearance in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) title game his senior year. Johnson finished as the #16 prospect in Maryland and was named All-State First Team.  Before college, he received offers from Louisville, Kansas, Kentucky, and South Florida among others.
