Sharks Launch Youth Arena Football League

Sharks Youth Football Kicks Off in 2023

JACKSONVILLE, FL- The Jacksonville Sharks are proud to announce the launch of their first-ever Sharks Youth Arena Football League, offering families the unique opportunity to have kids ages 6-12 compete in arena style tackle football. Sharks head coach Jason Gibson will be one of many Sharks coaches, players, and staff that will spearhead this exciting program that will have four age-based divisions with up to eight teams playing in each division. The Sharks Youth Football League will host 6U birth year (2017-2018), 8U birth year (2015-2016), and 10U (birth year 2013-2014) and its oldest division 12U birth year (2011-2012). The league will have teams competing in Duval, Nassau, Clay, and Saint Johns County with the opening games to kick off April 29th, 2023 with the season finale championship weekend set for July 24th, 2023 on the Sharks field at Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena.


Sharks Youth Arena Football League is part of the Jacksonville Sharks 501c3 nonprofit organization & dedicated to moving the lives of those touched by the fundamentals of teamwork, sportsmanship, empathy, and camaraderie showcased through the sport of football. This “Go Out And Tackle” (G.O.A.T) initiative emphasizes youth athletes doing their best in all aspects of their lives by tackling each day with 100% effort. Promoting no matter your goals or obstacles to go out and do the best that you can. The concept looks for long-term benefits towards youth development from field to classroom to household.


The Sharks are looking for dedicated youth coaches that are looking for an opportunity to coach any of the four age groups (6U,8U,10U,12U) in the Sharks Youth Arena Football League team.
