JACKSONVILLE, FL- The Sharks bring the West Texas Warbird’s 48 game winning streak to an end with their stunning 54 to 26 victory in the 2023 season opener. The defense shined while rookie quarterback Conor Blount led the offense in his NAL debut.

Blount threw for 228 yards and seven touchdown passes. Veteran and team captain Kamrin Solomon dominated the Warbird’s defense putting up four touchdowns and 136 receiving yards. Jenson Stoshak had two touchdown catches. Rookie WR Jordus Smith put up one touchdown for the Sharks as well.

Jacksonville’s defense was on fire. Defensive back Marvin Ross led the way with two interceptions. The Sharks put a lot of pressure on the Warbirds quarterback. Jermiah Price had multiple QB hurries and one sack. Jabari Gorman and Brian Smith also got interceptions. Damien Jacobs had one forced fumble.

Kicker Daniel Justino went 6 for 7 on extra points and had one deuce.

Coach Gibson is excited to get his first victory of the season. “It’s always hard to get a win on the road in the NAL.” Coach Gibson said,  “There’s a lot of room for improvement, but I’ll take an ugly win any day.”
