Sharks Continue To Build Roster
JACKSONVILLE, FL- The Jacksonville Sharks continue to add to their 2024 roster with the signing of six players. Four of the six players are rookies LB Trey Lambert (6 '4,240), DB Jalen Everett (5' 9,175), DB Sage Chen Young (5 '10,185), and OL Nick Roos (6' 6, 320). DE Anthony Hayes (6 '5,270) is a one year veteran of the Indoor Football League. Rounding out the new signings list is a familiar face in the Shark Tank, QB Eddie Brill Jr.(6’3,200). All six players look to come into camp to compete and make their mark on the Sharks inaugural IFL season
Trey Lambert comes to Jacksonville out of Ventura College where he played in 13 games and posted 82 tackles, 59 of which were solo. Lambert went to Richmond Academy High School and is from Augusta,GA.
Jalen Everett out of Reinhardt University appeared in 27 games posting 103 tackles, one forced fumble and five interceptions. Everett also ran track for his university.
Defensive back Sage Chen Young out of Keiser University appeared in 44 games where he had 149 tackles, 43 pass deflections, 5.5 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles and one interception. Young was selected to the MSC Sun Division First Team four times in his career and also was named All Academic honors three times while at Keiser University.
Offensive lineman Nicholas Roos joins the Sharks out of Bethune Cookman University where in 2019 he was selected as 2nd Team All MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) his junior year.
Anthony Hayes comes to Jacksonville for his second season in the IFL out of Texas A&M University Commerce. It didn’t take long for Hayes to make his presence known in the IFL. In his rookie season, he was tenth in the league with 10.5 tackles for loss and 20th in the league with 3.5 sacks. That would give him the nod for the IFL’s All Rookie Team for the 2023 season. While at Texas A&M University Commerce, Hayes appeared in 10 games posting 27 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles.
Last but not least, the Jacksonville Sharks announced the re-signing of QB Eddie Brill Jr out of Miami Beach, FL. This will be Brill’s second season with the Sharks after winning a championship with the team in 2023. Brill appeared in six games with the Sharks posting 542 yards, throwing 13 touchdowns and running for three more. Brill will be coming into camp looking to push and fight for the quarterback position for the upcoming 2024 season.
