Sharks Announce Free Agent Tryouts

Jacksonville Sharks Tryout Begins October 15

JACKSONVILLE, FL- The Jacksonville Sharks announce they will hold athlete tryouts on Saturday, October 15th, 2022, in the Jacksonville area, the actual location of the tryout will be announced  soon. The Sharks are looking to fill several positions for their 2023 roster and are looking for athletes who can play both offensive & defensive positions. Any athlete that is interested can submit a questionnaire at https://www.jaxsharks.com/tryouts Every online applicant will be reviewed by the Jacksonville Sharks coaching staff and player personnel department. Athletes of interest will be notified by our coach staff and receive an invitation to tryout for the team. High performing athletes at the tryout may be offered a NAL contract and be invited to compete in the Jacksonville Sharks 2023 Training Camp this spring. 

Each invited athlete will have the opportunity to perform in front of the Sharks coaching staff and be evaluated on physical tests that include the 40-yard dash, short shuttle, L-Drill, and position specific drills. Athlete’s interested in the tryout are required to have graduated from high school, exhausted collegiate football eligibility, and not be a current member of a collegiate football team for the 2022 season. The tryout is open to the public and media. Athletes need to check-in with our staff at 9am.  The tryout will begin at 10am and will conclude once every athlete has been fully evaluated. 

The Jacksonville Sharks are three-time league champions and currently play in the National Arena League as one of eight teams in five states across the United States. The Sharks expect to kick off the 2023 NAL season in April and will use the NAL offseason to sign athletes to fill their roster. The Sharks expect to invite athletes from across the country to attend this workout. This will be Sharks head coach Gibson’s first Jacksonville Shark tryout, Coach Gibson enters his 20th season of arena football and has had athletes advance their arena football career into the NFL, CFL, and USFL.
