AFL's Chandler and Cook join NAL's Shonola to Suit Up with Sharks

JACKSONVILLE – The 2019 National Arena League Champion Jacksonville Sharks have announced today the signing AFL defensive back Kyle Chandler, NAL offensive lineman Justin Cook, and NAL wide receiver Prince Shonola. All three players signed with the Sharks for the 2020 season under Coach Fuller and have decided to re-sign for the 2021 season with Sharks.

Chandler (6’0, 200) signed for his third season in arena football and first season with the Sharks. The six footer spent the 2019 season in the AFL with the Philadelphia Soul. He also competed in ArenaBowl XXXII against the Albany Empire during which he recovered one onside kick. In 2018, Chandler played in four games for the Corpus Christi Rage of the National Arena League.

Chandler is from Humble, TX and attended Humble High School where he led his team to a District Championship and was named first-team All-District in 2006.

Justin Cook (6’5, 335) has signed with the Sharks for his second season of arena football. He started the 2019 season with the Orlando Predators but finished the season with the Carolina Cobras. Cook began his college career playing for Delaware State University in 2013. He played in seven games during the 2014 season and helped DSU to a season-high 204 rushing yards against Savannah State. He then finished his college career playing for both Glenville State College (2016-2017) and Mars Hill University (2017-2018).

Cook is from Salisbury, MD and played at Wicomico HS, where he was a three-year varsity player who started on both the team’s offensive and defensive line.

Prince Shonola (5’8”, 172) spent his rookie season with the Carolina Cobras during the 2019 season where he played wide receiver and kick returner. In 2019, he played in four games, caught 3 passes for 45 yards and two touchdowns. On special teams, he returned six kicks for 123 yards and led the Cobras in average yards per return (20.5).
