Sharks Add Defensive Lineman Makini Manu to Roster

IFL Veteran & Wrestler Comes to Training Camp

JACKSONVILLE, FL – The Jacksonville Sharks announce today the signing of defensive lineman Makini Manu to the Sharks 2022 training camp roster. This will be Manu’s second season of arena football and first with the Jacksonville Sharks.


Makini Manu (6’3, 365 ) last played for the Louisville Xtreme of the Indoor Football League (IFL) where he played for former Sharks head coach Mark Stoute. In 2019, he played on the defensive line for the Bismarck Bucks of the IFL helping the Bucks to a 6-1 home record. Manu also spent time working on his professional wrestling career. In early 2019, he was one of 25 athletes chosen to compete at the WWE Performance Center for a shot at a WWE contract. Manu was one of three professional football players that were selected to be part of the 2019 WWE talent trials. 


Manu finished his college career at Utah Valley where he played rugby. Manu was a transfer athlete from Riverside City College, a JUCO program out of Riverside, CA. During his time at RCC he played defensive tackle for the Tigers. A native of Southern California, Makini played high school football for Carson High where he totaled 26 tackles and two sacks. Manu also played multiple sports in high school including wrestling.
