MARQUEL WADE RETURNS TO JACKSONVILLE

by Kyeli Brennan

JACKSONVILLE, FL – The Sharks signed familiar face wide receiver/defensive back, Marquel Wade (5’10, 185).

The Jacksonville native returns with a 2022 NAL Championship notch in his belt. Receiving touchdown passes late in the third quarter alongside linemen and former Shark, Cornelius Lewis, Wade helped Albany secure a 47-7 lead, and ultimately a 47-20 championship win over the Cobras.

As a member of the 2017 NAL Championship Sharks team, Wade will look to see the same results from the field this time around.

The dual-threat athlete has already recorded 11 tackles and 3 touchdowns in the three games he’s played with the Empire so far this season.

Prior to his professional career, Wade quickly drew attention early on. As a senior at Andrew Jackson High School, he recorded 53 receptions for 769 yards for nine Touchdowns.

Although Wade was recruited by Ole Miss, South Carolina, and Miami as well, Wade chose to become a University of Arkansas Razorback. There he received All-SEC Freshman honors on special terms.

The Sharks are excited to welcome Wade home!
