Five Star Quarterback Malik Henry Inks with Sharks for Second Season of Arena Ball

JACKSONVILLE, FL – The Jacksonville Sharks announce today the signing of quarterback Malik Henry who enters his second season of arena football and first season with the Sharks. 

Henry (6’3, 198) last played with the Frisco Fighters of the Indoor Football League (IFL). Henry joined the team late in the season and made his pro debut against the defending IFL champion Sioux Fall Storm where he was 10 for 23 passing for over 110 yards. Henry finished his rookie season with 76 completions for 778 passing yards, 21 rushing yards, and 10 passing touchdowns.

Henry finished his college career at the University of Nevada where he played in three games and started in two. As the Wolfpack’s quarterback he recorded 42 passes for 78 yards and one touchdown. Malik Henry transferred to Nevada from Independence C.C. a JUCO school in Independence, Kansas where Henry played quarterback for the Pirates. Henry had an impressive JUCO career playing 12 games for the Pirates throwing for 151 completions, 1,620 passing yards, 11 passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns. His best season came in 2017 where he helped the Pirates to a 9-2 overall record and a Midwestern Bowl victory with Indy head coach Jason Brown. Henry transferred to Independence CC. from Florida State where he was a highly recruited nationwide high school football star with a five-star recruiting rating.

Malik Henry is a native of Long Beach, California but resides in Los Angeles, CA. He started his high school career at Westlake Oaks Christian and finished his career at Long Beach Poly where he threw for 1,410 yards, 16 touchdowns and allowed only one interception during his seven game senior year. He was a census ranked #2 overall dual-threat quarterback, #1 overall player from the state of California, and the #17 overall nationwide best prospect by ESPN and #34 overall prospect by rivals. During his senior year he received offers from all power five conferences including Notre Dame, Florida State, Arizona State, Auburn, and Ohio State to name a few. Before he began his college career he competed in the Under Armor All-American Game (2016), Nike Elite 11 quarterback camp,
