Jacksonville Adds Linebacker / Defensive Lineman Kain Daub

Former Sandalwood All-American Signs with Sharks

JACKSONVILLE – The 2019 National Arena League Champion Jacksonville Sharks have announced today the signing of defensive lineman/linebacker Kain Daub. This will be his second season in arena football and his first season with the Jacksonville Sharks.

Daub (6’4, 235) most recently played for the Sioux City Bandits of the Champions Indoor Football League where he played on the defensive line for the Bandits in 2020 before the season was canceled. Prior to the CIF, Daub made the defensive squad for the Spring League Summer Showcase in 2019.

Daub finished his college career at Florida Atlantic University under head coach Lane Kiffin after playing for three other colleges (ASA, EMCC, Florida State). Under Kiffin, he played defensive end for the 2017-2018 seasons. During his career with the Owls he played in 16 games making eight tackles, six solos and causing a pass breakup. Daub played on a defensive line that helped FAU to a perfect 8-0 conference record, 11-3 overall record, a CUSA Championship victory and a Boca Raton Bowl game win in 2017. Daub found his way to FAU after transferring from ASA College in Brooklyn, New York where he was a 3-star JUCO linebacker racking up 47 tackles, nine tackles for loss and two sacks. Daub originally started his college football career at Florida State but transferred to East Mississippi Community College before the start of his first season with the Seminoles.

Daub is a native of Jacksonville, FL and was named sixth best player in the state of Florida by ESPN300 and third best inside linebacker in the nation during his senior year at Sandalwood High School. Daub earned All-American Honors and played in the Under Armour All-American game in 2014 while also earning First Team All-State in 8-A. The Sandalwood star recorded 182 tackles, 19 sacks and seven forced fumbles between 2012-2013. Daub was a two-sport athlete in high school playing both football and basketball and was recruited by Alabama, Clemson, Florida and Auburn before he committed to Florida State football as a four-star recruit under Jimbo Fisher.
