Defensive Back Ken Walton II Returns to Sharks

NAL Champ Ready to Wine One in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE – The 2019 National Arena League Champion Jacksonville Sharks have announced today the re-signing of Defensive Back Ken Walton II. Walton enters his sixth season of arena football and second with the Sharks.

Walton (6’2, 195) saw his latest arena football action as a Carolina Cobra where he spent the last two seasons as a defensive back. During the 2019 season, Walton played in eight games racking up 10 tackles, seven pass breakups, and one interception. In 2018, Walton began the season with the Jacksonville Sharks but finished the season with the Cobras and helped Carolina win their first National Arena League championship. Combined, Walton finished 2018 with 26 tackles, seven pass breakups, one tackle for a loss, and three interceptions.

Prior to the NAL, Walton played for the Wichita Falls Nighthawks in 2017 where he racked up 27 tackles and one interception. In 2016, Walton played for the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks where he totaled 25 tackles, nine pass breakups, and nine interceptions. Walton also helped the Steelhawks in a record season, leading them to a playoff berth. Starting his career in 2015, Walton earned a roster spot with the Nashville Venom of the PIFL after an open tryout.

Walton spent his college career at Itawamba Community College in Fulton, Mississippi after transferring from Cumberland College. Walton is a native of Lebanon, TN, and attended Lebanon High school.
